I have a great belief in the body’s instincts to protect and heal itself.
I am certainly not, however, someone who is so unfaltering in that belief that I don’t fully respect, and often embrace, conventional medicine, which, on occasions, can work hand in hand with natural methods. I certainly don’t think that either natural or conventional medicine needs to be seen as mutually exclusive!
As a society, we generally seem to have little faith in our body’s ability either to repair itself, or literally to “know what’s best” for us. All too often we reach for medication, or choose to adopt medically recognised practices and procedures to help us in times of need. However, I believe that there are many instances where the body should first be allowed the time to “have a go” itself!
I am not someone who easily takes a blind leap of faith, and for me to have arrived at this conclusion, and trust the sentiment, I needed good explanations and justification as to why a given technique, practice or procedure may work. I am a fairly practical, questioning person who could never place carte blanche faith in something seemingly attractive and idealistic, without it being underpinned with sound reasoning.
It is with those sentiments that I can confidently advocate and practice HypnoBirthing and The Bowen Technique. Both disciplines usually achieve excellent results, and fully respect the body’s superb natural instincts and abilities to ensure it functions as nature intended.
I hope this gives you the confidence to explore these wonderful practices a little further!
